Cardiovascular CT & MR Scholar Observer Training Curriculum
Curriculum for Cardiovascular CT/CTA
- CALCIUM SCORING: Risk Stratification Assessments
- CTA: Noninvasive CT Coronary Angiography for assessment of angina, Acute Coronary syndrome utilizing 3D computer workstation to process the images and evaluate the source data and create real anatomic displays of the vessel.
- FUNCTION: Cardiac CT Imaging for regional and global function assessment ejection Fraction, and volumetric analysis of the heart.
- CONGENITIAL: Assess and evaluate congenital heart defects
- EVALUATION OF AORTA: Assessment of aortic diseases.
- IMAGE VIEWING OPTIONS: Fellow will be trained using viewing techniques such as VRT(Volume Rendering Technique), MPR (Multi-Planar Reconstruction), CPR (Curve Planar Reconstruction), MIP (Maximum Intensity Projection),
- DATA ANALYSIS AND POST PROCESSING TRAINING: The complete spectrum of cardiac CT analysis and dedicated cardiac CT post processing software available using e.g.: 2D,3D,4D Post Processing Applications.
- EQUIPMENT: Clinical equipment at the University of Florida, state-of-the-art MDCT 64 slice Scan. In Jacksonville private imaging center has GE 64 slice PET-CT scan.
Curriculum for Cardiovascular MRI
- PERFUSION FUNCTION: Rest-Stress perfusion imaging and dobutamine cine MR imaging for regional and global function assessment.
- VIABILITY: Evaluation of infarction and microvascular disease, ischemic and dilated cardiomyopathies, hypertrophic and restrictive cardiomyopathies, including pre-operative cardiac assessment.
- FLOW STUDIES: Measurement of quantitative shunt volumes (Qp/Qs) in Congenital Heart Disease, peak velocities to assess valvular heart disease etc.
- PERFUSION ANALYSIS - QUANTIFICATION: Quantitative perfusion data analysis as well as qualitative image interpretation of perfusion studies will be trained on workstations with dedicated software. (Medis - Mass Program and PQA (Perfusion Quantification Analysis Program)
- EQUIPMENT: Clinical equipment at the University of Florida-Gainesville campus consist of Siemens 1.5 Tesla MR Scan, GE SIGN 3 Tesla MR system, incl. cardiac package.
